Finally is Saturday… and with it the plans for the first “solo” flight of the new students of the Team, Thaddeus Gala and Ted Sowinski. Apart from this, there’s a lot of desire to fly from the community of Team Kamikazes pilots.

The meeting place was Parque del Norte in Hatillo. The pilots and relatives who were present:

Pablo Cruz and his wife Millie
Eduardo Pabon
Luis Ruiz, his wife Jessica and son Noah Enrique
Ricardo González and his wife Ermelinda
Pin Pin Castillo, his brothers and Father
Luis David Cruz and his wife Pilar
Ted Sowinski
Thaddeus Gala
Jorge Ríos
Alex Diaz
Omar Román
Chey Sánchez and his wife Arlene

The wind around 8:30 a.m. was mild, and at once we began to prepare Thaddeus to fly “solo” for the first time. Eduardo Pabon was already in the air, when Thaddeus, controlled the paraglider, turned and accelerated decisively to go “solo” flying for the first time. CONGRATULATIONS!!!. His first flight lasted about just 20 minutes. He landed without major problems, and later in the morning he launched again. This time he was flying around for an hour. He used an SkyMax Moster Paramotor with an Apco Thrust 28 paraglider. Again his landing was very smooth.

Ricardo also arrived early and with great attitude, ready to fly. He prepared his equipment and went flying at once. His fly last for more than an hour. Eduardo and Omar accompanied Ricardo in his fly. This is remarkable since Ricardo had not been able to fly for several months, and now he did it with great authority. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

As the hours passed, the wind increased in intensity, making difficult to launch. Luis David managed to fly again. This time with the SkyMax Moster and the paraglider Apco NRG PRO 18.5 of Luis Ruiz. With this combination Luis David were flying in winds at over 20 mph !!! Luis Ruiz, on the other hand, managed to fly with his passenger Zoraida Sánchez who had bought his ticket through the “Offer of the Day”. She arrived early ready to redeem his ticket. The flight took place mostly along the coast of Camuy and lasted about 25 minutes. She was very grateful and happy with the experience.

So, we mostly spent the afternoon inflating with small paragliders like Alex’s Ozone Ground Hog and BGD Seed of Luis Ruiz. Jorge, who some time ago was not going to practice for personal commitments, was giving hard work to the practices like Pin Pin, Ted, and eventually the rest of the pilots.

We had an excellent day, great sharing with everyone who said present and a new pilot💪💪. We are already looking to make an activity next Tuesday when the intensity of winds is projected to fall again.
