We arrive at the weekend of July 23/24, 2022. We have had many challenges with the weather and strong winds (all year). So, We returned to Isabela looking to be able to just fly and generate new experiences with the Team and new friends who visit us.
Saturday, July 23, 2022…
The morning started very bad with the weather. But about time to cancel the activities in the morning, we decided to arrive at Villa Pesquera Isabela. We had previous commitments with Arlene Delgado and Yabiel who traveled from Aguas Buenas and with Vitaly and his wife Nayda, who now reside in Puerto Rico but are originally from Alaska. Ben Doyle and his wife Andrea accompanied Luis Ruiz to coordinate the possible flights.
From 8:30 AM to 10 AM we had an opportunity to so some flights. So, Luis and Ben took the opportunity to make the Arlene and Yabiel Demo Flights. While Vitaly, who is already a Paramotor pilot, dedicated himself to practicing a little Kite with the BGD Seed.
After the flights of Arlene and Yabiel were completed, the wind began to blow in with greater intensity. And that was the end of the activity. At least Arlene and Yabiel managed to live the experience after a long trip from Aguas Buenas, and Vitaly knew about Team Kamikazes.

Julián and Juleysi from San Juan
All the flights were successfully made by Ian, Ben and Luis, and all of them had great flying experiences!!!
The day started with the arrival at the activity of Mario and Ivonne. In fact, they had even installed a campsite in the place and Mario was practicing with the paraglider from very early in the day.
Eventually, Mario went flying early accompanied by Ricky, Edgardo, Alberto, Sammy and Darwin. Mario’s fly last for an hour while he made a cross fly to the Villas del Mar Hau. He climbed to over 1,200 ft and he was very happy. Definitely a flight to remember for Mario 💪.
As the day progressed, so did the wind’s intensity. Clouds were also developing in the interior of the island developing large cumulus storm clouds. The student Manny Martinez, Hermes Ferrer and Vitaly keep kiting on Ground with the Paragliders.
At one point, close to 1 PM, only Edgardo, Luis and Darwin were flying in wind conditions greater than 20 mph+.
Darwin and “Cueva Las Golondrinas”…
Speaking of Darwin, he was supposed to be in USA by this weekend, but a last hour airplane problem, cause that he spent the day flying with us. He was flying almost all day, and performed a difficult feat during the day, worth mentioning…
He made a cross fly together with Edgardo in the direction of the Guajataca Tunnel in Quebradillas. When he was passing the cliff of Royal Isabela, he decided to land in the front part of the tourist area known as “Cueva de las Golondrinas“. This is extremely difficult since the possibility of make that land is only possible a few weeks a year, since the cave is normally surrounded by the sea. It turned out that Darwin took advantage of the moment, and managed to make the complicated landing. This feat had been accomplished a year ago by the pilot Omar Colon. Congratulations to both of them…💪
Storm in the evening…
We spent the day as a family in our Tents, but, we had the opportunity to watched in the distance how the cumulus clouds, with lightning and thunder affected the interior of the island. until…, the storm gets too big and headed for our location. So we had to practically get out of there running.
Here we leave two videos of the moment when the storm winds reached Villa Pesquera…🙄
