It was the first time we visited the new Loiza flight area, which is located very close to the mouth of the Rio Grande Loiza. It is a cozy place, with good space to fly and land, but its access is quite limited. And the fact is that the road to get there is narrow and crosses about 400 meters of vegetation that is difficult to access. But once you get to the place, the image of the place changes and it’s very cozy. In fact, it is one of the favorite spot of the pilots Omar, Ray Malave and Edgardo Rivera.
This time we had the visit of pilots from different areas of the island. Some of them, whom we do not see frequently in our activities. The weather was acceptable. Sunny with a wind that was basically 15 mph all day. Not much more, not much less.
Omar’s father and his family were visiting him for the first time, it was also nice to see the pilots Gustavo, Alex Disla, Tim, Eric Román, Gabriel and Noel make an appearance.
Frank and Eric were dedicated to practicing paragliding and decide not to fly. But Samuel, Edgardo, Alex Disla, Edgardo and Luis decided to go cross country towards the town of Rio Grande and its chain of hotels. Passing through the area of Puerto Herrera, (a place we used to frequent before in our past activities), we decided to land in the place. This was full of people with good music and party ☺️.
The landing in Puerto Herrera was somewhat complicated for some pilots since the wind was coming crosswise and the mouth of a nearby river increased the difficulty. This was verified a little by Edgardo and completely by Alex Disla. But, everything was fine and it was all part of the day’s adventures ☺️!!!
At late afternoon, some of the pilots returned to their homes, because tomorrow the routes were flying in Isabela. But, this was not the case for Gustavo, Gabriel, Edgardo, Wilnelia and Omar. More than words, check their final videos…
We definitely have to make more frequent stops in magical Loiza. We will keep you informed. Blessings 🙏!!!
