Finally a great day of flights for the whole island. This despite the fact that the conditions were supposed to be bad in the afternoon and finally it didn’t happen either. Every time we have a day like this with good weather, many stories are created throughout the island, and today was no exception.

The Story…
The winds came from the North from very early in the morning. This allowed Instructor Luis Ruiz to be able to give a longer and more pleasant flight to all the people who wanted to Live their Flight Experiences. Also the Kamikazes pilots, Alberto, Mario, Pablo, Sammy, Paul, Charles and Noel were flying all day as they wish. Smooth weather and great flights were the norm.
At one point in the morning, we received the visit from John Baez, Jesus Rivera and Albert Cintron that comes from Hatillo flying their Paramotors. They launched from Hatillo and Fly all the way to Isabela. They landed and had a good times with us in our Location. Eventually the 3 pilots Took Off again and return to Hatillo. Thanks for the Visit 💪!!!
In the afternoon, the weather and wind conditions were still good, but this time, the wind was rolling and began to enter from the NW, which made take-offs, landings and flights in general at inverse position of our natural weather behavior in the Spot.
Cross from Ceiba to Isabela!!!!
During the day a group of pilots managed to carry out a very notable feat and long cross fly of more than 100 miles+!, very difficult to execute. The Adventure started at Machos Beach in Ceiba. They launched form there at 10 AM. Later, they made two stops on the way, one in Levittown, and another in Hatillo. Eventually they reached Isabela by 4:30 PM. All day Flying!!!!
These long distance Crosses have been made on past occasions. As documented in our files in October 2018, https://www.volarpr.com/2018/10/29/sabado-27-de-octubre-de-2018/
In order to success in this type of Cross Fly, the climate plays a very important role. A relatively soft winds are advisable and with a predominance of a northerly direction. Also, passing the San Juan area involves the permits from the two major airports to give Green Light to pass the zone, and with that some solicitude from them that put the safety of the journey at risk for some minutes. And it is that when passing the restricted areas, these airports require a flying altitude height of about 100 to 150 ft. Not more than that, for areas where landing (for any reason), could finish in the ocean and / or in areas of bathers of some of those beaches…🙄
In short, everything went well, with good ground support coordination. The last section, from Hatillo to Isabela, was unexpectedly the most challenging, as the wind began to come in from the West. This section is normally covered in half an hour or even less. This time it took more than an hour for the pilots to cover this section.
Among the pilots present, on their way to Isabela, were Carlos Cándido and Samuel Travis who stopped at our activity to share with us. In addition, we were able to recognize Danis Rodríguez, Eduardo Pabon, Alex Disla, Edgardo Rivera, Omar Colon, and Darwin Hernández while they were flying.
It is worth mentioning that ALL of them are former members of our Team Kamikazes flight school. Just with the exception of Alex Disla and Samuel Travis, who took their courses in the USA.
Congratulations to all the pilots on their adventures. That’s what it’s all about 💪!!!!
