During this week we did a Paramotor Tour with our new friends, Adam Giles who lives in Minnesota, and Steven Harris, a native of Pennsylvania. Both took their Paramotor training in the USA and arrived on the island after coordinating with Instructor Luis Ruiz. Not only would they be flying and polishing their sports skills, but Luis would take them to visit some points of interest on the island during the week.
Days # 2, 3 & 4 – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 29 – 30 – 31, 2023…
The winds dropped a bit and we finally had a chance to fly on the North coast. This time Adam and Steven would have the opportunity to enjoy the laminar winds of the beach area in Isabela. And several members of Team Kamikazes are coming to join the adventure.

Day # 2 – Wednesday, March 29…
We had excellent weather to fly from 8 AM to past noon. The Laminar winds on the coast fluctuated between 5 to 12 mph. This was taken in advantage by the pilots Darwin, Charles, Mario, Alberto and a little later by Edgardo to fly along the entire beach coast. Luis Ruiz was also giving a Demo flight to Janice Rivera who was arriving from Manatí to Live her Experience.
Meanwhile Adam and Steven started practicing Kite inflation with their paragliders on the way to flying. They were accompanied by the student Wilkins Torres in Training. And within a few minutes of practice, both Adam and Steven were flying for the first time on Isabela. Enjoying the magic of Paramotor flight in the area.
At one point, as part of the adventure, Adam had to land because his Paramotor had problems with the belt that drives the propeller. Within a few minutes we look for him and had it back and ready to continue flying.
At one point, Darwin and Edgardo were doing a Tandem flight where they turned off the Paramotor and live a Free Flight experience with the lift created by the wind close to the Cliff in the area. They were sustained in the cliff for more than 30 minutes without the need of the Paramotor.
Adam and Steven were very surprised by the number of pilots that accompanied us to the activity, in addition to the fact that the weather was a pleasant 75 F to fly, when in Minnesota and Pennsylvania there were reports of snowfall these days 😲.
Day # 3 – Thursday, March 30…
Back in Isabela and with very good flight conditions. Adam and Steven again flying the area, and this time with greater comfort as they became more comfortable with the weather and with their take-offs by the “Reverse Launch” method. Luis Ruiz in the meantime has pending the Demo flights of Margot and Marie from Canada, and then later appear Veronica from San Juan and Rob from Pennsylvania.
At one point, Steven apparently saw a whale in the area while flying. Here is the post-flight interview.
After flying all morning we took a break with Steven and Adam, but at sunset several members of Team Kamikazes returned to fly in Isabela again and take advantage of the excellent conditions. The pilots present were Mario Muñiz with his wife Ivonne, Edgardo Rivera, Darwin Hernández and Sammy Badillo.
Everyone kept flying and taking advantage of the lift that the wind created against the Cliff. In the case of Darwin and Edgardo, they once again flew off in tandem. And again they turned off the Paramotor to perform Free Flight around the Cliff. And this lasted for hours! until sunset.
The forecast of weather for next days will be windy again, and it would not be possible to fly back to Isabela in the next few days… but we take advantage of the good weather of these two complete days of flying.
Day # 4 – March 31, 2023 – Is not Just Flying…
As the Forecast indicated, the bad weather with Heavy winds returned to the Island. Based on that, today was our Free day to do other activities beside Paramotoring.
This time we coordinated with Kayaking Parguera in Lajas, to do a Guide Tour in Kayak around the Cays in Parguera. The trip last 3 hours and was a great and different adventure for Adam and Steven. Luis this time goes with his little Kid Noah Enrique.
Thanks to Luis Gabriel Camacho, owner of Kayaking Parguera and the Captain Lucky Maldonado for their attentions in the Tour. Here we share some videos of the Adventure.
We close the Day with a dinner in one of Luis preferred restaurants, named El Galeon in Aguada, where the specialty is the Mofongo filled with different meats as Shrimps, Lobster, Steak, etc. A typical food on the island.
Now time for Rest after a long Day. God Bless🙏!!!
