Last weekend, it was an intense one as far as the weather is concerned. We had to cancel our activities and we couldn’t fly. Winds entering from the South of 20 mph+ were the norm for the weekend, and the Heat that was registered in the island set records never seen before.
But as they say…, after the storm, comes the calm. And little by little things were improving until we met again this Wednesday afternoon. The meeting point was Villa Pesquera Isabela, where Luis Ruiz met with his friend and pilot Alberto Sabah. There in Isabela, unlike most places in the island, we had light winds coming in from the NE. In other places the wind continued coming in from the South.
The idea was to fly a little before so many inactive days. And there appeared Mayra Echevarria, who resides in Illinois, USA. She was just walking along the beach, and gets interested in what we are doing. She had to return to her home in the USA tomorrow, so, she wants to fly as her last adventure prior to her return to USA.
We are going to try, but the light winds were very challenge. So, we need to run hard in our Take Off. Luis need to use his Apco Play 42 Tandem Paraglider to have a real chance to Take Off. And we succeed!!! We managed to do it!!!
They were followed a little later by Alberto on the air. The flight covered the entire beach coast and Mayra was very happy for her unplanned flight experience. In fact, she indicated, that it had been his best adventure in his entire visit to the island.
And as we always say, “that’s what it’s all about” bringing this lovely experience to our new friends. God Bless!!!!
