Mario’s story…
Early in the morning, the pilots Sammy Badillo, Mario Muñiz and Luis Ruiz take off in a cross flight in the direction of Jobos Beach. They were taking advantage of the light winds in the morning, but at halfway of the trip, everything changed…
it turns out that from about 10 mph of wind intensity, in a few minutes the intensity rose to over 20 mph+. This was not a major problem for Sammy and Luis who carried their fast paragliders, Apco F3 and BGD Luna 2 of 18 meters. But in Mario‘s case, his trusty 24 meter Cosmos Power glider was not the best option to handle 20 mph+ winds…
The detail is that Sammy and Luis arrived at Jobos, and when they turned they saw that Mario had followed them in their flight despite the intensity of the winds. The return to Villa Pesquera was hard for Sammy and Luis, but for Mario… Luis and Sammy believed that he would not be able to return, so they had to land in Villa Pesquera and go looking for Mario where he had landed…
Even more, seeing Ivonne’s face, who was waiting in the middle of the field, and seeing us arrive and where Mario was?

Darwin was the other pilot who went out to fly in those conditions, but just like Sammy and Luis, his fast Flow RPM paraglider made it look easy… Alberto was trying to get out from his house, but this time the force of the wind surprised him. Another who arrived was Edgardo, who day by day continues his recovery.
