After a week of inactivity due to the strong winds and rain that have prevailed throughout the island. Finally we decided to go in the morning to fly to the always paradisaical Lajas Valley.
Actually, this was our only chance to fly this week and to our satisfaction, the conditions were excellent for flying. And not only that, but an immense fog covered the Valley, that is, whoever who could Take Off would literally have an Epic flight!!!
Several pilots from different parts of the island met with the intention of flying…
Samuel Travis, traveling from Humacao,
Mario Muñiz and his wife Ivonne, from Aguadilla
Luis Ruiz from Aguada
Pedro “La Guinea” from Utuado
Edgardo Rivera and his wife Wilnelia from Aguas Buenas
Alberto Sabah from Isabela
Wilkins Torres, his wife Brenda and son Wilkins Jr. from Villalba.
The Story…
Ivonne Valdez was in charge of the departure videos and flights of the pilots on the day. And she record a little of each of them. The first pilot to Take Off, just at sunrise, was Samuel Travis, who headed for the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse, Boquerón, and then returned to the Lajas Valley.
Then the Take Off attempt was Mario’s, but before attempting it, Mario decided to practice inflating his paraglider, and that was counterproductive, since when he went to try to take off in zero wind, the paraglider was very wet and made it difficult to handle…
Then Luis Ruiz Take Off using his personal Trike. His fly did not last long. He was going to give Edgardo Rivera a chance to fly, who had not been able to fly for a few months.
Eventually, Edgardo got ready and managed to take off immediately as well. His first flight in months and he was very happy, watch his Live Video…
Then it was the turn of Pedro “Guinea”. He failed his first takeoff attempt, and for its second attempt, he managed to fly, only to realize that one of the connectors on one of its legs was loose and therefore decided to land as soon as possible. After this, his glider picked up a lot of moisture, making further flight attempts impossible.
Then it was Alberto‘s turn, who had arrived without making much noise. We didn’t expect him. It turns out that Alberto prepared his equipment and Take Off without much difficulty. He was flying all over the Valley, and upon landing, he indicated that it had been well worth the sacrifice of getting up early to make this flight.
Lastly, Wilkins‘ turn… this was an unlikely flight due to Wilkins‘ inexperience and even more so in light wind conditions. Wilkins tried three times and gained experience. We do not doubt that in the future he will be able to do it. It’s just not the time yet.
We want to thank Ivonne, for the compilation of Videos, for this reason, we end here with one of her own. God Bless 🙏!!!
