Thursday, November 02, 2023 – A Windy day at Isabela, and Loiza…

After student Mike Lisowski’s first “solo” flight yesterday, today we returned to Villa Pesquera Isabela. But this time the flying conditions had changed. It was a windy morning, with steady winds of 15 to 20 mph with some gusts to 23 mph.

Starting the morning in Isabela. Windy situation…

With these conditions, Mike is going to practice ground control with the training paraglider, 14 meter BGD Seed.

In the meantime, Luis Ruiz had to make two Demo flights for the couple Arnaldo and Ayleen, natives of Isabela, and in Ayleen’s case it was her birthday!!!

Luis Ruiz gave them the necessary instructions, especially to face of strong winds. He took off first with Arnaldo, who weighed around 200 pounds. Luis used his reliable 32-meter Tandem, Flow Panorama paraglider.

By the time it was Ayleen‘s turn, the winds had picked up even more, but Ayleen only weighed about 120 pounds, so the flight was made with a smaller glider. Both were very happy with their experiences, promising to return in better conditions.

Arnaldo and Ayleen, very Happy with their experiences…

Tomorrow Luis Ruiz will take Mike Lisowski to the Mayaguez airport due to previously contracted commitments. From there he will go to San Juan and will be out of Puerto Rico for the weekend, . We expect Mike back on Monday to continue his training.

Kamikazes in Loiza…

Edgardo Rivera, Darwin Hernandez and Pedro Agostini were flying in Loiza. But, as happens in Isabela, it was very windy. In the case of Edgardo and Darwin, they use small and fast paragliders, so, they flew in the area with high winds. Here are some videos of their adventures there…
