After a week where the wind conditions were strong, in which Luis Ruiz took the opportunity to rest his injured knee, the winds finally decreased in intensity and the knee improved… Both days, Saturday and Sunday, we were in our flight area. Isabela Fishing Village. Much to tell, and let’s go for part…

Saturday, January 13, 2024…
The winds were stronger than expected, winds of 12 to 15 mph were the norm for the morning. This was used by Brenda and Noah to practice with the paragliders. At the same time, Ian went out to fly on his Sky Z-Blade paraglider.
At one point, Samuel Travis, and his girlfriend Michelle, arrived with 3 Paramotor Pilots who were on vacation on the island. Among them was Rob Condella, great pilot that travel the world being ambassador of the Parajet company, which we represent on the island. Every pilot loved our place of flying and took very good photos and videos of the activity.
Demo flights and winds that reached at some point 25 mph!!!!
Once Bala Grandhi and his friends from India arrived, we concentrated on making the pending Demo flights. The winds continued to increase in intensity, so we had to hurry. Ian and Edgardo were ready and Luis was going to help them, trying to do some flying if his knee allowed it.
The situation gets complicated minute by minute with the wind. It is more difficult to carry out these activities in strong wind due to the force that we as a pilot must be exerted to control a larger paraglider. Alberto, Ricardo and Wilkins and Brenda would be on the ground assisting the pilots in carrying out the flights.
Each of the takeoffs was challenging. Departures by the Cobra Launch method were mandatory for the pilots. Luis Ruiz could only help them with a flight, after that, he had to protect his knee. At the end of the day, all coordinated flights were carried out and the guys from India were very happy with their experiences. Our respects to Ian and Edgardo for such a surprising feat.
In other years it would not have been possible to do them. But this time with more knowledge and better flight equipment, it was possible. Here we leave some photos and videos of what happened.
Sunday, January 14, 2024…
We returned to Isabela in the morning, present were Alberto Sabah, Pablo Cruz and his wife Millie, Luis Ruiz, Alex Disla and his friend Fernando. Again conditions were very windy since very early in the morning.
Wilkins and Alex decided to go out early to fly before the conditions deteriorated further. Still, both managed to get out in the air in 18-20 mph wind conditions. Alex was using his 23 meter BGD Luna 2 paraglider, which was comfortable to fly in these conditions, however, Wilkins had it more difficult… He need to fly with his 31 meter Apco Thrust V. This posed an additional challenge in these conditions. Everything go as planned, and Wilkins even performed some Touch & Go for the first time. Congratulations!!!
Around noon we finished the activity with winds exceeding 22 mph+. Time to rest…
