There was a lot of activity this Saturday, and we wanted to give a complete story to Joan Rivera’s feat.
Her story began about a year ago, when Joan was approached Edgardo Rivera’s flying activities in the Eastern zone of Puerto Rico. From there a good friendship arose, and Edgardo took on the task of teaching her to fly Paramotor. Then, days, weeks and months passed, with practice with the paraglider whenever possible. And step by step she mastered the control of the paraglider and started to felt ready to try it.
Finally the Day arrive with the correct Weather…
And today… Edgardo Rivera, his wife Wilnelia, along with Darwin Hernández, Danis Rodríguez and Jomar Crespo stayed at nightfall at the Posa del Obispo in Isabela. And there was Joan, ready to attempt her first “solo” flight. Before this, Edgardo Rivera, assisted by Danis Rodríguez, took her in a Tandem Fly, checking that everything was fine for her flight. The most important thing is that the flight conditions were ideal. The flight was going to be attempted…
The moment…
After rigorous instructions and measures, the time came… Joan was ready to fly with the direct instructions of her teacher Edgardo… and she did it!!! She Take Off with good control and was flying with other pilots in the area. Then, after she landed, and it was a unique moment of celebration. In which other friends and pilots from the Kamikazes family had also joined, such as, Pedro Agostini, Mario Muñiz and his wife Ivonne, Hermes Ferrer and his family, David Silva, Wilkins “Chino” Morales, Jomar Crespo and some others were present.
