In the darkness, there’s light at the end of the tunnel…, June 28 to July 04, 2024…

Days of great darkness and sadness for our family and community of Team Kamikazes pilots and the island. But we have to move forward, there is no other way.

And within all our situations and possibly the lowest point of Team Kamikazes’ mood in years, there were always moments of light, small, but in the same way they help us overcome the pain and faithfully recover in our social work.

There were a few days of activity in the first week of July…

June 28, 2024… Wells Brewpster…

One day before Hurricane Beryl approached the south of the island, we had a small flight activity in Villa Pesquera Isabela. Luis Ruiz had a visit from pilot Wells Brewster, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and trains Paramotor in the Texas area.

The wind was relatively strong for flying, and Luis Ruiz rented appropriate flight equipment for the occasion. A Fly Products Rider Moster paramotor and his preferred paraglider for difficult conditions, the 22-meter Sky Zorro.

Wells was flying over the cliffs of Royal Isabela, and part of the Guajataca Tunnel in Quebradillas, and here we present his impressions of his flight and of flying on the island.

July 04, 2024… Stormy Conditions…

There were stormy conditions with winds exceeding 20 mph+ on the past days. This is partly due to the proximity of what was Category 5, Hurricane Beryl, which passed over the island of Jamaica on its route.

Today, I had my friend Joshua Hoover, (who had previously flown with us), looking if it was possible to make a demonstration flight to his friend Anshou, a native of India. He would leave the island tomorrow, so, today is the only chance…

For this purpose, and evaluating the weather, we agreed to arrive in Isabela at 7 AM to see if it was possible to fly for a few minutes. The flight managed to take place, and just after landing, 10 minutes later, it was not possible to fly again, the Storm weather arrived!!!. Thank God, we managed to do the flight and Anshou was very happy with his adventure.

Anshou, from India, enjoying and speaking about the experience and the island !!!
