Two days before the arrival of Storm Ernesto in Puerto Rico, we have ideal flight conditions. And we took advantage of it!!!
Team Kamikazes Family Present…
The Instructor Luis Ruiz met in Villa Pesquera Isabela with the school’s students, Raúl Rivera Sr., his son Raulito, José Rolón, Edwin Rivera and Harry Davila. Also, the long-time friend and pilot David de Jesús also arrived, along with his friend and Free Flight pilot, Angelo Torres, who fly Paraglider, and want to feel the experiences of the Paramotor.
Storm Ernesto and flight opportunities…
It is expected that for the next few days we will be under Tropical Storm Watch, but prior to this we had acceptable weather conditions to be able to fly and practice with the school students. The possibilities were evaluated with the students and we all decided to arrive early so we could practice and fly.
Some Demo Flights…
Luis Ruiz had coordinated previously to carrying out of two Demo flights for introduction to the sport. This time for the ladies, Lourdes Castillo from Hatillo and Yanil Rodríguez from Caguas. Both ladies enjoyed their flight experiences and we share here a little of their experiences, and this is what it’s all about, making our sport and passion known with unique flight experiences. Thank God!!!.
School Students and First “Solo” Flights…
It is quite typical that when students arrive at our school, they arrive on groups or partners. This time, we have had a group of students from the town of Vega Baja that had been training for the past few weeks. And among them are Father and Son, Raúl Rivera and his son Raulito. Both have been working hard in recent days, and today we had the opportunity to try their first “solo” flights.
Today, as part of their Training, we put the Paramotors on their backs. If they did everything well and conscientiously, we would turn on the Paramotors so that they would fly.
It turns out, that both, Father and Son, Raul Rivera Sr and Raulito, after some last minute details and well execute training, they go to fly for first time EVER!!!. Congratulations!!!. Also, the visiting PG Pilot Angelo Torres, with the assistance of Instructor Luis Ruiz handle to fly Paramotor for first time ever too!!!. He started using a noble Paraglider BGD Luna 2 26-meters. Then, the wind started to pick up in intensity, and because of his good skills levels proven, we want that he try a modern and sporty Paraglider, the Sky Zorro 22-meters in higher wind conditions. Also, we try get the first “Solo” Fly of the student, Harry Davila, but the wind was too strong when he go for it. So, we need to postpone this try for next weekend. We hope that the influence of Storm Ernesto should be away of the Island. Also, pending is Jose Rolon first fly too, and possible the other student, Edwin Rivera. We will see…
