After a week with active weather, as is natural for these dates, we returned to having “normal” flight activity on Friday, December 20…
During past week, there were few moments for flying… Luis Ruiz managed to make an individual flight on Monday, December 16 in Isabela, where he flew alone and covered the route from Villa Pesquera to Jobos Beach.
And then, on Wednesday, December 18, Ricardo González, accompanied by his wife Ermelinda, and Sammy Badillo arrived at Isabela. But, this time, they faced winds of over 22 mph+. They only practiced with the paragliders on ground and then returned to their homes.
The visit of International PPG Pilot, Randy Kester…
Finally, today, we had better weather conditions, and we had a visit to Puerto Rico from Paramotor pilot Randy Kester, originally from Madison, Wisconsin.
Luis Ruiz was giving him assistance for his first flights on the island. Randy purchased a Fly Products Eclipse Atom80 Paramotor from Luis inventory.
The first flights…
While Randy practiced with his paraglider, the 21-meter Niviuk Qubik, Luis Ruiz went flying around with his 22-meter Sky Zorro. Later, it was Randy‘s turn, who took off without any major problems. The duration of the flight could have been longer, but we had an unforeseen problems with the Paramotor. Having it stored for a long time caused one of its filters to be somehow clogged, and Luis took it at home for repair.
In the meantime, Luis took the opportunity to fly and test Randy‘s paraglider, the Niviuk. After the fly, Luis described it, as predictable, well-built and reliable. Later in the day, the weather deteriorated, and we finished the flying activity. Luis was going to check Randy‘s Paramotor at house, to meet again tomorrow Saturday… Stay Tuned…
