Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21, 2025 – The First two (2) Days of the Adventure visiting (and Flying) the Dominican Republic…

The Instructor Luis Ruiz, along with his little son Noah Enrique, took a week’s vacation to visit our brother pilots in the Dominican Republic. This visit had been coordinated for some time, and finally the time arrived…

Monday, January 20, 2025… Preparations and Trip to the Dominican Republic…

Luis Ruiz was preparing the equipment he was going to take, and this time the ideal option to fly was his SkyMax Pulsar Paramotor with a Vittorazi Moster MY22 engine. This unit is completely dismountable, and in just a few minutes. Also, it fits in a traditional travel suitcase, and best of all, without weighing more than 50 pounds, so we avoid paying for excess luggage. Along with the Paramotor, Luis carried several paragliders of different sizes and the bar to make Tandem flights, in case the opportunity arose.

The method of transportation was Ferries del Caribe, which we took in the afternoon at the Pan American Pier at San Juan. The ship would take us to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, navigating all night. It has all the comforts of a small cruise ship with musical and artistic activities, which makes the trip very enjoyable.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025… Arrival to Santo Domingo and the adventure begins…

We arrived to Santo Domingo in the morning, and as always happens when carrying a Paramotor in a suitcase, it was separated for inspection. Fortunately, and with an extra tax of $10, they allowed us to go ahead with our plans.

Arriving to Santo Domingo.

In Santo Domingo were the pilots and friends, David Tejeda and Roberto Rodríguez, with whom we would be carrying out many of the planned activities and this would include flying.

Taking advantage of excellent flying conditions, we met at David Tejeda’s house, and once there, we assembled our equipment for the first flying session in the afternoon.
