Weekend, March 22 – 23, 2025 – A Challenge weekend, But we get a Gender Reveal and some Amazing Flights!!!

A Saturday with a lot of action, combined with a Sunday where the activity was canceled due to the weather, but even so, we had a great practice session with students in the morning. Here are the stories…

Saturday, March 22, 2025…

We were in Villa Pesquera Isabela (both days). Today was cloudy, but with constant winds of 10 mph in the morning, rising to 20 mph in the afternoon. Anyway, the weather was much better than the forecast indicated. Therefore some pilots decided not to attend the activity, but those who were present were Luis Ruiz, Edgardo Rivera and Jomar Crespo. With the visit of Chino Morales in the afternoon.

Demo Flights and Gender Reveal…

Luis Ruiz was doing some introductory flights to the sport in the morning. This time to the ladies Zaimara and Chara, natives of Quebradillas. While Edgardo and Jomar accompanied and assisting him on the flights.

Later in the day, Luis was in charge of carrying out an Introduction to the sport flight together with Marilyn Rodríguez, who had previously coordinated together with her family, the realization of a Gender Reveal in the area. She will fly with Luis Ruiz carrying out the smoke system that would be used to reveal the sex of a baby. During the flight the color BLUE came out, meaning it was a BOY, and the family was very happy to receive the news. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Edgardo in the meantime, assisted Luis, making the flight of Mickey (from New York), who also came to live his flight experiences.

After the flights, Edgardo and Luis, both, ended up testing the power of Luis Ruiz’s personal Paramotor, with a 235cc, 33 HP Corsair Black Bull engine. Both were very impressed with the power. This motor would be used for the Demo flights in the future.

With that flights, it was supposed that we finished the activities for the day… but WRONG… Edgardo was in the house…

A last minute sunset fly… (with a BAD Surprise!!!)

Everyone left the area by 3 PM. Luis Ruiz headed to his home, while Edgardo and Jomar goes for lunch to Jobos Beach. The pilot Chino Morales was already waiting for them there. After take the lunch, Edgardo and Jomar had the idea to gets back to Villa Pesquera for a last fly of the day, and they headed back, at 6 PM !!!…

Back to Villa Pesquera at 6 PM !!!

As soon as possible, they managed to Take Off again, but this time was different. The weather had change… Jomar feels the air weird, and turn back and land as fast as possible. BUT… Edgardo, Take Off and goes flying all the way to Jobos Beach (5 miles away), to fly over Chino Morales, thinking that still in the area. But, Chino had already leaves. When Edgardo turns back to Villa Pesquera, he found himself in a very difficult and delicate situation… the wind had rolled the direction and now is coming from South, bringing to him ALL the turbulence from the cliff.

He fight back the turbulence at different altitudes, looking for a good spot to handle the turbulence but, in ALL altitudes goes from bad to very BAD… At 7 PM, close to sunset, he eventually managed to arrived back to Villa Pesquera. Jomar was there waiting for him on ground… Edgardo, later said that the experience was one of his worst flying experiences to date, extreme and delicate, to say something…

Sunday, March 23, 2025…

Very Windy early morning in Isabela… So, Luis Ruiz cancelled the activity early in the morning, but…, by the time Luis Ruiz arrived at the place, the student Edwin Rivera was already there ready to practice. So Luis, took the opportunity and had a training session with Edwin. By the time they were finishing, the student Rebecca also arrived. Then, another training session was also held. Is was very productive for both students to fight a 13-meter Trainer Paraglider in these high winds.
